Denton Park Shopping Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne

 

Rokeby assembled and subsequently sold the existing Denton Park shopping centre to Wm Morrison and has been reappointed as Development Manager.

The development will comprise a new 75,000 sq ft Morrisons foodstore, a purpose designed health centre for the Denton Park Medical Group and 10,000 sq ft in additional retail units, ranging in size from 500-1,000 sq ft.

Some of the existing retail units will be fully refurbished to bring them in line with the style of the newly constructed sections of the scheme, together with a new 470 space car park, a new access and car parking to All Saints College, pedestrian links to the adjacent customer service centre and swimming pool.

Rokeby has worked closely with the City Council and Morrisons to secure Planning Consent and a new Development Agreement with the Council.

Preliminary work to All Saints college and highway works commenced in July 2007 with a phase development to the health centre and foodstore being completed by Summer 2009.
